Last year we hosted an International Night. This year our music teachers wanted to expose the students to popular Broadway and Hollywood musicals, so we prepared a Music Festival. On May 18th we had our show in which each class performed selections from a musical. They had a lot of fun with it, and we had a lot of fun watching!
The first and second graders stole the show with "So Long, Farewell", "My Favorite Things", and "Edelweiss" (on the chimes) from The Sound of Music.
The third and fourth graders dressed like chimney sweeps for "Chim Chimney," "Spoonful of Sugar", and "Supercalifragislistic" from Mary Poppins.
The fifth and sixth graders performed songs from Fiddler on the Roof: "If I Were a Rich Man" and a dramatic rendition of "Tevyeh's Dream".
The seventh and eighth grade class sang and danced with umbrellas to the classic "Singin' the the Rain" and a modern stomp version of "Moses Supposes" from Singing in the Rain.
The whole student body gathered for a finale of Sing, Sing a Song, and We're Thanking You to share their appreciation for all the parent and community support we are blessed with.
Our hats go off to Ms. Teri and all the teachers who worked so hard to make this an evening the students will always remember. We are selling DVD's of this show, which include the three "I Am Ta'iala" commercials, and the short film "Kindness Begins With Me". DVD's are $5.00, and can be requested by emailing us here.
