We encourage and appreciate involvement from families and parents. Each family is expected to volunteer at the school in some capacity. The teachers and/or office staff will contact you to coordinate volunteer opportunities.
Classroom Visitations: We appreciate your interest in our educational program. To ensure minimal disruption to instruction, parents are asked to make prior arrangements for classroom visitations with the teacher and administrator in the school office. All visitors, parents included, must check in at the office and wear a Visitor tag before going to any classrooms.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Parents can request a conference with their child’s teacher any time they have questions or concerns. There are regularly-scheduled conferences every few months. Please check the Ta’iala calendar for specific dates. School will get out at 11:30 on these dates. Please pick up your child on time. Parent-Teacher Conferences or Progress Reports are scheduled before report cards to alert parents if their child needs extra attention on some subjects. Additional conferences may be initiated by either teacher or parent.
Teacher Communication: Teachers may telephone parents to discuss their child(ren)'s work, so please don't hesitate to use this channel of communication for your concerns. Since teachers are not free to come to the telephone, please leave a message with the office staff and the teacher will return your call. Student planners are available to communicate with the teacher as well. Teachers will arrange a method of weekly communication with parents.
Report Cards: Report cards will be sent home at the end of each quarter. Besides each quarter grade, a final grade will be recorded on the report card. Deficiency notices are distributed to parents when appropriate.
Field Trip Parental Consent Form: Parents are reminded to please complete the field trip parental consent forms that are sent home and return them to your child's teacher as soon as possible. Students must have parental permission to participate in field trips.
Chaperones will be required for some field trips. All parents/guardians are invited to attend.
